The past tense¶
The Past Simple¶
When something clearly happened in the past. It is used with words like: yesterday, last week, last year, one year ago, etc.
example: We went to london last year

- When you use an irregular verb make sure you know all the right forms.

The Past Continuous¶
When something happened for a while in the past
Example: My mother was working when I came in
